Embedded in the dense jungle of the Colombian South Pacific, and surrounded by the Pacific Ocean, Malaga Bay is one of the most important living laboratories in the country, and one of the most diverse territories in Colombia.
All mangrove species present in Colombia, including the endemic Pelliciera rhizophorae, can be observed in Málaga Bay. It is also one of the wettest places on Earth and home to some of the tallest mangrove trees of the Americas.
